Yay for me!

I've written almost 1,000 words of fic tonight! Teyla-fic, as a matter of fact, and a scene that I had plotted out several times in my mind (a dangerous thing, because sometimes you get it just right, so perfectly in your head, that you don't want to settle for anything less in print, but it's usually impossible to replicate). I changed a couple things, stuff that always changes when you see things in black and white, and when you let the characters make their own decisions (which may or may not be different decisions than the ones they made when you were plotting it out in your head), but all in all I'm pleased. And I basically know what I'm going to do with the next segment, although I want to wait for tomorrow's episode before I actually write anything down, because some spoilers indicate that there's going to be something in the ep that addresses how the Athosians deal with death, and that could be very important to this story.

In other news, I've had these symptoms for like the last two weeks and I still don't know if they're indicating allergies or a cold -- every time I decide on one something happens to make me change my mind. No fever, no aches and pains, just a lot of sneezing and sniffling and the occassional scratchy throat. Whatever it is, it's a bloody pain in the ass.

Crap. I said 'bloody'. Spending too much time online.

The store is open late tomorrow and guess who's working the closing shift? For the next two nights? Yup. Gotta be there until 1230am which, I probably don't have to tell you, sucks in so many ways. Yes, I'm much more of a night person than a morning person - any number of people can tell you that - but I've also been hitting the sack a lot earlier lately, which I guess just means I like to sleep. I'm actually making myself stay up til 1am tonight to try to train myself for Monday and Tuesday night, which used to be no biggie, but at the moment...

*tries to not yawn*

Oh, and speaking of Teyla, Rachel mentioned in a magazine interview that the stave fighting style they use on Atlantis is somewhat based on Kali, which may be common knowledge, but hey, I didn't know it. So I did a little "google research" and found a site and, even better, some quicktime clips. Hey, look familiar? Might come in handy if you have to choreograph a fic fight scene ;)
