I have to say though, the fact that Bush continued his "vacation" and selling the war in Iraq for two days after the hurricane hit seemed a bit much. Even not knowing how badly hit NO was at the time, shouldn't he have had federal assistance going to Mississippi? Why did he wait two days to even come back to Washington to make sure things were happening?

Now it's obviously not all his fault, though I guess as he's the President the buck has to stop somewhere, as there has been a lot of disorganization at all levels of government. This seems mostly because while everyone said it was going to happen, nobody prepared for it to happen during their time in office. But even so, it does seem to have taken a considerable time for federal assistance to arrive. And there's the fact that the LA and MI guard units have most of their heavy equipment in Iraq, which made their getting supply convoys through more difficult. That should have prompted an earlier federal response, knowing that sort of needed hardware wasn't available.

I guess we'll see what happens over the next few days with the relief effort. Hopefully things that have been messed up are finally getting organized.

I'm not familiar with the site myself, although I found the link TO it on right-thinking. The blogs he (or she) links to, however, are basically the best-known and most-hit on each side.
