So here's the situation

For the teaching classes I'm taking now, on top of actually going to class I also have to do ten hours per class of fieldwork, which is basically going into a public school classroom and observing the kids and teacher and taking notes.

Until recently, I was in a class where the teacher taught math and science back to back at the end of the day on Monday, which was perfect for me since I could go to class, hang out for about 3 hours, then leave and be back to school in time for my class. Ya see, I have class at 3pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Those are the only days I'm over in Stockton, which is about an hour away from where I live.

The problem is that the teacher I was working with, Ms. S, is no longer teaching science on Mondays. Because of a prep schedule change, she's teaching it on Tuesday and Thursday. Obviously, that doesn't really work for me. Even if I didn't work on those days, there's no way I'd be driving an hour to watch a 45-minute class.

So I brought it up to my professor, and he said, basically "well, stick with Ms. S for math and go to another teacher for science." I asked my classmates, and there are two teachers who do science on Mondays... the problem is, they both do it in the morning. The most likely is Ms. F, who teaches it at 9. In the morning.

Now, maybe this is just be being difficult, but I don't really want to have to get up at 7am so I can leave at 8am (or earlier) to be in Stockton at 9am, watch the class for 45 minutes and then... have nothing to do and, really, nowhere to go besides the lobby or the library for the next five hours until I have class. That's just a waste of my time.

Also, Ms. F already has two people watching her science class and when this all started she said that was the max number she wanted.

So... do I go back to my professor and tell him this isn't going to work? He's really set on us doing our fieldwork at this specific school, but I know I could find something over here at one of the local schools if he'd let me. Or do I just suck it up?

Well I would explain what you've said here and see what he says. You've prevented a logical argument. That said however, it does sound like you will just have to suck it up.

Good luck.
