Was listening to the radio on the way to school today. Decided that Complicated is a good Bats/Diana song. You know, in a young, angsty teenybopper way. And maybe the other Complicated song is more appropriate. Eh, who knows.
Writing -- or plotting, really -- has been complicated as of late. I have three very different storylines running loose in my brain... my Justice League redo of Hereafter (for the time being I'm calling it Redux... that was so my favorite X-Files episode ever), a Stargate SG-1 idea too stubborn to die and unfortunately rekindled by the blahness of Sacrifice Moon, and an original idea that was rekindled by the fact that I'm rereading Kushiel's Dart (and trying to resist the urge to skip ahead to where Joscelin shows up. Sigh...) Right now the original has the momentum for the simple reason that it's been months/weeks since a new JL or SG1. And longer since a really good ep. Ahem.
I was a bad daughter and forgot to mention this yesterday, but mom went through her surgery fine -- she was out of the OR by 11:30 and home by 2:30. She's in discomfort and pretty doped up, and she's really sick of the clear/liquid diet, but other than that she's good.
Did some Christmas shopping the other day. Mom, Sharon, Shelby, Jamie and Amanda (my cousin's fiance) are taken care of. Dad showed me the Jeep paraphernalia he wants. So now it's just my uncle and his son Sean that I have to figure out.
Finally, as you can see from the icon, I'm completely insane in that I've signed up for nanowrimo. I participated last year but didn't finish... halfway through the month a bad cold, an evil professor and a lack of interest in the story I was writing ganged up and killed that story. Of course this year I have even less time, but I do have an idea, and books for research that I got for my birthday, and, well, I'm insane.
