*chokes trying not to laugh*

One, two princes kneel before you
That what I said now
Princes, princes who adore you
Just go ahead now
One has diamonds in his pockets
That's some bread, now
This one said he wants to buy you rockets
Ain't in his head, now

This one he got a princely racket
That's what I said now
Got some Big Seal upon his jacket
Ain't in his head now
You marry him, your father will condone you
How 'bout that now
You marry me, your father will disown you
He'll eat his hat, now

Marry him, marry me
I'm the one that loved you baby can't you see?
Ain't got no future or family tree
But I know what a prince and lover ought to be
I know what a prince and lover ought be

Said if you want to call me baby
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe
Just go ahead now
And if you wanted to buy me flowers
Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
Just go ahead now

Said one, two princes kneel before you
That what I said now
Princes, princes who adore you
Just go ahead now
One has diamonds in his pockets
That's some bread, now
This one said he wants to buy you rockets
Ain't in his head, now

Marry him, marry me
I'm the one that loved you baby can't you see?
Ain't got no future or family tree
But I know what a prince and lover ought to be
I know what a prince and lover ought be

Said if you want to call me baby
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe
Just go ahead now
And if you wanted to buy me flowers
Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
Just go ahead now
And if you want to call me baby
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe
Just go ahead now
And if you like to buy me flowers
Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
Just go ahead now
If you want to call me baby
Just go ahead now
And if you like to tell me maybe
Just go ahead now
If you want to buy me flowers
Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
Just go ahead now
Oh Baby!
Just go ahead now
Oh!
Just just go ahead now
Oh, your majesty!
Just go ahead now
Come on forget the King who... marry me!
Just go ahead now
Come on, come on, come on
Just go ahead now
Go ahead now
Just go ahead now, etc.

Ahhhhhhh, bitter sweet memories of my first true teenage crush. That was =the= song that summer at our sailing schools ;-)
I think 'twas 1992 ;-)

He was a sailing instructor with the same youth vacation organisation that I was with.
He was so hot (think young Rob Lowe meets.. Tom Cruise, I guess), every girl lusted after him. Why he picked me, no one will know. He was really sweet when it was just the two of us, and he was reasonably okay (as much as an 18 year old stud can be) when we were 'in public' ;-)
Gawds, I was =soooo= in luurve ;-)
Of course he dumped me after the summer, and went on to do the same thing to my best friend the next year.
We got our 'revenge' though: sometime that fall we showed up at the pub he worked at together. At that time, I lived 300km away from where he and my best friend went to college. You can imagine his surprise when he saw both of us walk into the door ;-)
We made him squirm =all= evening, in public, right in front of all his regular customers. =Such= fun *evil cackle*
You left out the part that goes
DA DA DA DUP
DA DIT DA DIT DIT DA DIP...

(it's my favorite part of the sheet music; I occasionally perform this song)

(I got to see the sPIN dOCTORS just before they hit with this,
for free at a mud-filled park in Jersey; shame their later records
weren't as phenomenal)
