Watching the Reagan conveyance in Washington, DC.

A very solemn and moving event. The amount of tradition and ceremony in this event is amazing.

Not to be disrespectful to Mr. Reagan - he was an amazing man - but I think it is also to do with the atmosphere of Washington. I mean, I've been there, and I was even inspired to patriotism. It's just one of those places, you know?

But still ... *salutes Mr. Reagan* He's gonna be missed.
Oh yeah. I mean, when you have the White House and Capitol building constantly in the background, and the trademark wide avenues and mounted Capitol police... I just don't think it would be the same if it was done anywhere else.

(Although perhaps it would be cooler. I feel so bad for Nancy and all the other people who had to stand out in that heat and humidity!)
