Website still down. I'm starting to worry that the punks have cut me off because the couple dozen big files (eps) I have on the server. Of course they say that we're supposed to get unlimited server space, but the last place I went with said we were supposed to have unlimited bandwidth and that was a lot of B.S. too.

Still, I shall be very annoyed if this is the case.

Is this www.powweb.com or someone else? I ask only because I was thinking of moving to powweb once my current hosting company account ends.
Well I've been considering getting a new domain name, but that's not the expensive part. It's the hosting plan that usually costs. But I've had it up to here with these little cheapo places that make all these great claims but then give you the shaft in the small print.

We've always had fairly good service with powweb, but they're almost $8/month and I'm pretty sure you have to pay the year up front. I was hoping to have at least SOME money in my bank account by the end of the school year.
Actually, there are a couple of issues.

1. If you originally got your domain name through your hosting company, when you change companies you may have to start paying for that domain name yourself. That's what happened with me, and I ended up forking out $100 for 5 years worth of domain name ownership recently.

2. Powweb actually allows you to pay for two months, six months, or 12 months at a time. If you pay for 6, you get one month free. If you pay for 12 you get two months free plus a free domain name. So you may be able to get away with going 2 months to 2 months.

Looking at powweb, I see that they will register your domain name for free for certain packages. That's something that the cheap hosting places don't do.

Yeah, I checked it out and it looks like you can get 3 months, a year or 2 years. But if you go with 3 months you don't get a free domain. I think a year would be the best deal, but it's a lot of money for me to fork over at once. Le sigh.

I guess I should wait for onedollar to get back to me. They're supposed to reply to queries within one business day.

Right. But they probably won't pick up the maintenance on your existing domain name, only new domain name registrations - they need to go through their own channels.

Tell me about it! And I'm earning a bunch more than you are. However, the company I'm with right now charges more for less space and bandwidth, so it's a no-brainer from that sense.

Eh, I don't care about that. I want a new one.

Well that sucks. Who do you go through?

Fair enough then!

Who do you go through?

I have Hostonce, the same company anr uses. At the time it seemed like a great deal, but I since found Powweb and they seem even better.
Ah, I used to use them. They were the ones who said they had unlimited bandwidth and then kicked me out cause I used too much. Nice.
cats! ,
i can out run them,
they are not dangerous,
they are smaller then me,

they just are in no need to be saved ...........but they come close to the criteria :)
What about a specific breed of cats? There must be some kind out there that are rare... or something.
