Political news/blog rundown

Because I can't be bothered to write an actual post.

Inside Obama's bank CEOs meeting [Politico]: Obama tells the CEOs that his administration “is the only thing between you and the pitchforks.”

Um... does anyone else sort of interpret that as a threat?

Iowa Court Paves Way for Gay Marriage [WSJ]

I picked the WSJ article on this because their headline is accurate; this is a decision made by the Iowa court, not the Iowa people. It'll be interesting to see if they go the Prop. 8 route in the next election.

Cap-and-Tax Collapse [WSJ]: Please pass Al Gore a Valium -- and better make it a double -- because his cap-and-trade dreams just took a dive in the U.S. Senate. In a vote late Wednesday, no fewer than 26 Democrats joined all 41 Republicans to insist that any new cap and tax on carbon energy would require at least 60 votes.

Nice to see some good news out of Washington.

House race in New York too close to call [Reuters UK]
