(no subject)

Watching the news, and there's a guy from the 9/11 commission with a flowchart that seems to be proposing a National Intelligence Director.

NID! Bwahaha!

I had a dream last night that Joe (2001/2010) was going to be on Atlantis. The Aschen had dumped him in the Pegasus galaxy for some reason and they found him and added him to their staff. And that of course made me think of the Ren and Stimpy episode where they find the planet where all the left socks that disappear in the dryer go to.

So I was wondering... if there a planet where all the "left socks" in Sam's life are banished to? Martouf and Narim and Orlin and Joe all sitting around playing backgammon... and then the Portal to the Other Side opens, and a figure steps through, and Orlin goes "I know that man. He once tried to sell me dog food."

*waits for it*

Harumph, again.

Another question for the baby story growing in my head.

Has Stargate, the show, not the movie, ever given any kind of timeline for when the Goa'uld (specifically Ra) first came to Earth? The movie, as far as I can tell, says 10,000 years ago (this according to tests done on the coverstones that were found with the Stargate itself). However, actual archeology says that the Great Pyramid was probably built around 2600 to 2500 B.C.... closer to 5,000 years ago. Then there's the date given for the rebellion of Egeria and the spawning of the Tok'ra movement. In Crossroads, it's stated that the Tok'ra were created and Egeria was 'killed' by Ra about 2,000 years ago. This would seem to mean that the Goa'uld, under Ra, held dominion over Earth for at least 3,000 years, and the rebellion happened some time around the birth of Christ (this, of course, ignoring the date from the movie). However, by this time what we think of as 'ancient Egypt', the great Nile Empire, had been trod over by other civilizations and hadn't actually existed for about 1,000 years,

My head hurts.
