Not completely sure what to think at this point. It's so different in terms of story from the first one, but of course it had to be; with the original movie there was nothing like it before. Now the effects aren't quite as rare and the concept is of course well-known.
Lots of unanswered questions, of course, which will no doubt (or maybe I should say 'hopefully') lead into the second movie. The matrix itself is definitely more complex than it appeared in the first movie, with all these programs, those exiled and those still in use, working for and with and against each other. At this point I think I'm most interested in knowing what Agent Smith is up to. Unconnected as he is from the others, his goals seem to be different from merely destroying Zion. Although he was the one who put in the infiltrator, he seems to be working towards different purposes.
Or maybe I'm just pulling this out of my ass, who knows ;)
There's been so much gushing over Neo/Trinity, it's funny... the relationship doesn't give me warm fuzzies or anything. That's not to say I'm some kind of Matrix noromo *g* it just didn't affect me as I thought it might.
That's all for now... maybe more later...
