I should be grateful that she's speaking to me at all, since I've been stressed with house stuff and ignoring this story shamefully...

Trust me. I have been insanely busy, and my muse has not been pleased. So when I do write, she screws me over big time. So yeah... You are not alone!
Just take the muse out to the woodshed for a whipping. That'll teach it.
