It's one thing when a book makes you cry the first time you read it. You're not expecting what's coming, after all. But when you know what to expect, and it still hits you so emotionally... then you know it's something special.

I actually think I love this trilogy more now than I did the first time through.

On an unrelated note to this book specifically, I started re-reading a book I picked up many years ago and thought you may be interested in it as, unusually in fantasy, the protagonist is female. The author is Elizabeth Moon, and you can get the trilogy as one book called The Deed of Paksenarrion, or you can buy each title separately.

Of course I know my book choices are somewhat suspect, but if you check out the reviews you'll hopefully see it's very highly rated.
