I was reading the online paper of a local town that has rampant crime and an inept city council. There was a lot of complaining in the comments thread when finally someone pointed out that people need to stop just complaining and actually do something. Not exactly a novel concept, I know, but then someone else chimed in with:
Good point, Everyone should go down to City Hall for the council meeting and stand up for your rights. Go and make as much noise as you can, get your point across. Look what is happening in the town hall meetings with Obama and the medical scandal. Thousands of US citizens are standing up against WRONG.
And it made me think, you know, if Obama is the price we have to pay to get people to start paying attention and acting instead of just playing armchair quarterbacks, then maybe it's worth it.
