1) What author do you own the most books by?
Dean Koontz. I pretty much have all of his books, and for the last decade I've been buying the new ones in hardcover.

2) What book do you own the most copies of?
Hmm, I don't know. I actually don't have any doubles that I can think of.

3) What fictional character are you secretly in love with?
Well I would never keep in a secret ;) Joscelin from Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel books comes to mind immediately, although Gilbert from the Anne books would be a close second.

4) What book have you read more than any other?
Sharon Shinn's Samaria books, I think. They're just amazing in terms of worldbuilding and the fusion of fantasy and scifi and romance really appeals to me. They're on my 'comfort reading' shelf. The other candidate is possibly Koontz's The Face, which is my favorite from him.

5) What was your favorite book when you were 10-years-old?
The Seventh Princess by Nick Sullivan. I actually started writing a sequel to it, which I suppose was one of my first - if not the first - encounters with fanfic. I also loved The Castle in the Attic series by Elizabeth Winthrop, The Indian in the Cupboard series by Lynne Reid Banks, and Christopher Pike's The Starlight Crystal.

6) What is the worst book you've read in the past year?
The Summer Tree and it's sequels by Guy Gavriel Kay. One word: pretentious.

7) What is the best book you've read in the past year?
Elantris by Brandon Sanderson. I just heart it.

8) If you could tell everyone you know to read one book, what would it be?
Either Elantris or Shinn's Samaria books.

9) What is the most difficult book you've ever read?
Probably something I was forced to read in college. I've blanked them out of my memory.

10) Do you prefer the French or the Russians?
Neither?

11) Shakespeare, Milton or Chaucer?
Neither? I'm not big on 'classics'.

12) Austen Or Eliot?
Austen!

13) What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?
Probably the classics, as I mentioned earlier.

14) What is your favorite novel?
Ouch. That's a really hard one. It sort of changes from year to year.

15) Play?
The Man of la Mancha, for old time's sake.

16) Poem?
Eh, not into poetry.

17) Essay?
*yawn*

18) Short story?
"The Yellow Wallpaper"! It's so damn creepy.

19) Non-fiction?
I'll have to get back to you on that.

20) Graphic novel?
See #19.

21) Memoir?
See #20

22) History?
Bias by Bernie Goldberg. I guess it's more of a current events than a history, but it's as close as I can get.

23) Mystery or noir?
You know, I like a mystery within the confines of a larger story, but I can't offhand think of any favorites that fit solely within that genre. Although, in my YA days I really enjoyed Sam the Cat: Detective by Linda Stewart

24) Science fiction?
Well I really have to mention Orson Scott Card's Ender books, because they just blow my mind in terms of scope and theme and underlying message.

25) Who is your favorite writer?
Right now my favorites are Dean Koontz, Brandon Sanderson and Jacqueline Carey. That might change!

26) Who is the most overrated writer alive today?
Stephenie Meyer, a million times over.

27) What are you reading right now?
The Book of Joby by Mark J. Ferrari
