From Sadr City

This is awesome. The biggest "awww" happened when I noticed that the little boy is standing on the Sergeant's boot. Adorable.

I was curious about your tag: wwiii... World War III?

Baghdad... June... HOT GROUND!

I was curious about your tag: wwiii... World War III?

Yep. It's my blanket Iraq/Afghanistan/War on Terror/War on Islam tag.
When I was that age I walked on bubbly-hot asphalt in my bare feet, but the sand at the beach would defeat me. I stood on my father's shoes a lot. ;-)

It's rare to find someone who realizes that this is a World War. Although I tend to think of it as IV, with III being the Cold War.
What can I say. I am a rare person. ;)

I was a carpet crawler for the end of the Cold War, so it didn't really impress upon me.
